Lishui University

Lishui University is a full-time public undergraduate university located in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, known as the 'Green Valley of Zhejiang.' Approved by the Ministry of Education, its history dates back to the Chuzhou Normal School founded in 1907.

It became a four-year university in 2004 and was authorized to grant master's degrees in 2021. The university has two campuses covering 1,661.3 mu (about 110 hectares), with a building area of 508,500 square meters. It enrolls approximately 16,000 full-time students and employs over 1,360 faculty and staff.

Lishui University's strengths lie in its distinctive programs and applied orientation. It is a master's degree-granting institution with 11 professional master's degree categories and 47 undergraduate majors spanning arts, sciences, engineering, medicine, education, and arts.

Programs in ethnology, ecology, nursing, and education are highly regarded in Zhejiang Province. Ethnology, in particular, leverages the rich She ethnic culture of Lishui to form a unique research focus. The university emphasizes applied talent development through close ties with local industries, featuring an academician workstation and two Zhejiang provincial postdoctoral research stations that provide practical and research platforms.

Academically, Lishui University boasts a highly qualified faculty of over 1,360, with more than 40% holding senior titles. Many faculty members are selected for provincial or national talent programs. The university comprises 14 teaching units, including the College of Ethnic Studies, College of Teacher Education, College of Ecology, and College of Medicine.

Curricula emphasize the integration of theory and practice, with small-class teaching and project-based learning. Research facilities include teaching and research equipment valued at 290 million yuan, a library with 1.77 million print books and 1.24 million e-books, and several provincial key laboratories and research centers, such as the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Characteristic Resource Plant Germplasm Innovation and Utilization.
