Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology

Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology (LIT) is a full-time public undergraduate institution under the Henan Provincial Government, located in Luoyang, a historic city known as the capital of thirteen dynasties in China.

The university has three campuses—Wangcheng, Kaiyuan, and Jiudu—covering 139 hectares with 860,000 square meters of building space. As a model applied technology university in Henan, LIT focuses on producing high-quality applied talents, closely aligned with industries such as building materials, intelligent manufacturing, and information technology.

LIT's flagship programs include Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Design and Automation, Computer Science, and Civil Engineering, with Materials Science being a provincial key discipline. In the 2025 Soft Science ranking, LIT placed 381st nationally and 14th in Henan Province, highlighting its strength in applied education.

As a key talent base for China's building materials industry, LIT holds leadership roles in the China Building Materials International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance and the New Materials Professional Collaboration Committee of the Applied Technology University Alliance.

LIT comprises 19 schools and departments offering 58 undergraduate programs across engineering, science, management, humanities, economics, law, and arts. The faculty of 1,900 includes a high proportion of senior professors and industry experts as guest lecturers.

Teaching emphasizes theory-practice integration, with 59 teaching and experiment centers, including provincial key labs and engineering research centers. As a pilot institution of the Ministry of Education's Data China 'Hundred Schools Project,' LIT offers specialized courses in big data and artificial intelligence.

LIT's three campuses offer distinct environments: Wangcheng is the main campus with modern teaching and lab buildings; Kaiyuan features lush greenery and a scenic setting; Jiudu sits along the Luo River with pleasant views.

Facilities include standard sports fields, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and student activity centers. Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms, while canteens serve diverse Chinese and Western cuisines.
