Yunnan Police College

Yunnan Police College, located in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, is a full-time public undergraduate institution co-established by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department, primarily managed by the latter.

Founded in 1950 and upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 2003, it was approved as a master's degree-granting unit in 2022, offering a Master of Police Affairs. As a key police education hub in Southwest China, the college focuses on cultivating professionals with global perspectives and hands-on capabilities.

Yunnan Police College's flagship programs include Drug Control, Counter-Terrorism, Criminal Investigation, and Public Security Management. Its Drug Control College is one of the earliest specialized anti-drug education institutions in China, renowned for expertise in drug prevention and detection techniques.

The college is among the few in Southwest China authorized to grant a Master of Police Affairs. Close collaboration with the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department ensures students engage in real-case simulations and internships, emphasizing practical training.

The college comprises teaching units such as the Drug Control College, Counter-Terrorism College, Criminal Investigation College, Public Security Management College, Law School, Information Network Security College, and a Graduate Department.

It offers 14 undergraduate programs spanning law, engineering, and management. The faculty of 508 includes national-level teaching masters and police combat experts. The curriculum integrates theory with practice, featuring facilities like simulated interrogation rooms, drug analysis labs, and cybersecurity attack-defense platforms.

The four campuses (Yuanshan, Heshan, Baoshan, Longshan) are conveniently located within Kunming city. The green campuses feature standard athletic tracks, shooting ranges, combat training halls, and simulated urban streets for police drills.

Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and internet access. Cafeterias offer diverse meal options. The library holds extensive collections in public security, law, and drug control. On-site amenities include supermarkets, a clinic, and ATMs.
