Weifang University

Weifang University is located in Weifang City, Shandong Province, known as the 'Capital of Kites' in central Shandong, with convenient transportation and a vibrant economy. It is a full-time public undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education.

Its history traces back to the Qingdao Teacher Training School founded in 1951, and it was established in its current form in 2000 through the merger of Weifang Higher College and Changwei Normal College. In 2024, the university was officially approved as a master's degree-granting institution, marking a significant milestone.

Weifang University's strengths lie in its deep roots in teacher education and its clear applied orientation. Originating from normal education, it has rich experience in teacher training while actively developing engineering, management, arts, economics, and other disciplines, forming a pattern with teacher education as a feature and multi-disciplinary coordination.

The faculty consists of 2,039 staff members, with a high proportion of senior titles and a growing number of dual-qualification teachers. The university emphasizes student-centered teaching reform, strengthening practical teaching through provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and off-campus internship bases.
