Yibin University is located in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, China. It is one of the first universities jointly built by the province and the city, and a member of Sichuan's 'Double First-Class' discipline construction plan.
The university originated in Lizhuang, Sichuan in 1978 and was formed in 2001 by merging Yibin Teachers College and the Yibin Branch of Sichuan Education College. In 2024, it was approved as a master's degree granting institution.
Yibin University's core strength lies in its applied talent cultivation model. As a pilot university for transformation and development in Sichuan, it is part of the Data China 'Hundred Schools Project', excelling in information technology, intelligent manufacturing, and new materials.
