Ningxia Normal University

Ningxia Normal University is located in Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and is a provincial public university sponsored by the regional government. Its predecessor was Liupanshan University founded in 1975, upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 2006, and renamed Ningxia Normal University in 2024.

As a pilot school for free teacher education and one of the first application-oriented transformation universities in Ningxia, it is dedicated to cultivating high-quality teachers and applied professionals. The university has two campuses, Guyan and Wenyuan, covering nearly 1,400 mu (about 93 hectares) with 322,000 square meters of building space.

Ningxia Normal University is distinguished by its strong teacher education programs and applied disciplines. It is a 'Western First-Class' discipline construction unit in Ningxia, with 5 first-level master's degree authorization points and 7 professional master's degree categories covering education, literature, science, and engineering.

Flagship majors include primary education, Chinese language and literature, and mathematics and applied mathematics, with graduates highly sought after in local schools. The university is part of the Ministry of Education's Collaborative Improvement Plan for Teacher Education, collaborating closely with East China Normal University.

The university comprises 16 teaching units offering 43 undergraduate programs. Its faculty of over 860 includes many senior professors and experts recognized at provincial and national levels. The curriculum features free teacher education and AI-enhanced teaching methods.

Research platforms include several provincial key laboratories and research centers, such as the Ningxia Teacher Education Research Center. In recent years, the university has undertaken over 30 national-level research projects and more than 200 provincial-level projects, publishing hundreds of high-quality papers.

Ningxia Normal University has two campuses: Guyan (main campus) and Wenyuan, both with green landscapes and modern facilities. The main campus features well-equipped teaching buildings, a library, laboratories, and sports venues.
