Jiangsu Second Normal University

Jiangsu Second Normal University (JSNU) is a provincial public undergraduate university located in Nanjing, a historic and cultural city in China. Its origins date back to the Nanjing Teacher Training School founded in 1952, and it was officially renamed as a regular undergraduate institution in 2013.

As the only teacher education reform experimental base in Jiangsu Province, JSNU hosts national-level programs such as the Excellent Teacher Training Program and key provincial centers including the Jiangsu Teacher Training Center and the Educational Administrative Cadre Training Center.

JSNU's core strength lies in its deep-rooted teacher education heritage and national-level training platforms. It is a national training base for exemplary primary and secondary school teachers and principals, as well as a training base for the Ministry of Education's Principal Leadership Program.

Its flagship programs are in teacher education, with 5 national first-class undergraduate program construction points and 16 provincial first-class ones, covering areas like primary education, preschool education, Chinese language and literature, and mathematics.

In academics and research, JSNU emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, with a curriculum centered on teacher education. It comprises 15 schools offering 36 undergraduate programs, including 17 teacher-training ones.

The university hosts a national Excellent Teacher Training Program reform project, with courses designed to blend teaching skills, educational research, and subject knowledge. Research platforms include provincial key laboratories and humanities bases, such as the Jiangsu Basic Education Quality Monitoring Center and the Jiangsu Teacher Education Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.

The campuses are beautiful and well-equipped. The main Shiqiu campus features modern teaching buildings, a library, and lab centers amidst green surroundings, creating a conducive learning atmosphere. The Caochangmen campus is centrally located with convenient transportation and amenities.
