Nanyang Normal University

Nanyang Normal University (NYNU) is a provincial full-time undergraduate university located in Nanyang City, Henan Province. It is recognized as a Henan Provincial Demonstration Applied Technology Undergraduate University and a Characteristic Key Discipline Construction University.

Founded in 1907 as a normal training institute, it was upgraded to a university in 2000 and gained master's degree granting status in 2017. NYNU enrolls over 30,000 full-time students and employs nearly 1,900 faculty members across 23 teaching units, offering 77 undergraduate programs and 23 master's degree programs.

NYNU's flagship disciplines—Chemistry, Materials Science, and Engineering—have all entered the ESI global top 1%, reflecting strong research capabilities. The university offers 23 master's degree programs, including 5 academic and 18 professional ones, along with 5 key provincial disciplines.

As a Henan Characteristic Key Discipline Construction University, it excels in applied fields such as Computer Science, Internet of Things Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, and Intelligent Science. In 2023, NYNU was selected for the national '111 Plan,' boosting its international profile.

NYNU boasts a highly qualified faculty, with many professors holding overseas experience. The curriculum balances theory and practice, featuring industry collaboration courses and hands-on training. Research is supported by several provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, such as the Henan Key Laboratory of Insect Biology in Funiu Mountain.
