Shangqiu Normal University

Shangqiu Normal University is a provincial public full-time undergraduate institution located in Shangqiu City, Henan Province. Its history dates back to 1905, with its predecessor being Yingtian Academy, one of the four great academies of the Northern Song Dynasty, giving it a rich cultural heritage.

Designated as a project university under the Ministry of Education's Data China 'Hundred Schools Project' and a model applied technology-oriented undergraduate university in Henan, the university focuses on industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation to cultivate high-quality applied talents.

Shangqiu Normal University has a strong tradition in teacher education, serving as the leading unit of the teacher education linkage development community in eastern Henan, and has cultivated numerous excellent teachers for regional basic education.

At the same time, it has actively transformed into an applied technology-oriented university, being a key construction university during Henan's 14th Five-Year Plan period. The university has developed distinctive strengths in emerging fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, and bioengineering, with several programs recognized as provincial first-class undergraduate programs.

The university boasts a well-structured and highly qualified faculty, with 1,773 staff members, including 1,392 full-time teachers. Over 40% of the faculty hold senior professional titles, and the proportion of teachers with doctoral degrees is steadily increasing.

The university emphasizes curriculum development and teaching reform, implementing smart teaching as a provincial demonstration university for smart teaching. It has developed several provincial-level quality online open courses and virtual simulation experimental teaching projects.

The university has two campuses, Liangyuan and Suiyang, covering a total area of 1,776 mu (about 118 hectares) with a building area of 629,700 square meters. The campuses are beautifully landscaped with lush greenery and lakes, blending traditional academy elements with modern design.

The library is spacious and well-equipped with modern facilities such as self-service borrowing and e-reading. Student dormitories are apartment-style, equipped with air conditioning, water heaters, and private bathrooms, ensuring comfortable living.
