Xihang University

Xi'an Aeronautical Institute is located in the historic city of Xi'an, with two campuses: Lianhu and Yanliang, covering an area of 1,158 mu (about 77 hectares) and a building area of over 460,000 square meters. Founded in 1955 under the former Ministry of Aviation Industry, it was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate university in 2012.

It is the only institution in Northwest China that offers a bachelor's degree in flight technology. The university is primarily engineering-oriented, with disciplines including engineering, management, science, literature, and arts.

Xi'an Aeronautical Institute's core strength lies in its distinctive aviation focus and industry background. As the only university in Northwest China offering a flight technology bachelor's program, it holds an irreplaceable position in aviation engineering, flight technology, and drone applications.

It is a reserve institution for the national '14th Five-Year Plan' education strengthening project and serves as vice-chairman of the National Alliance of Newly Established Undergraduate Universities. Flagship majors include Flight Technology, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Power Engineering, and Measurement & Control Technology.

The university comprises 16 teaching and research units offering 39 undergraduate programs in aviation, mechanical, electronic, computer, management, and foreign languages. The faculty includes over 400 professors and associate professors, many with overseas study or work experience.

The curriculum balances theory and practice; the flight technology program is equipped with flight simulators and aviation training bases. Research platforms include the Northwest Low-Altitude Economy Science and Technology Research Institute and the China Aviation Culture Museum.

The Lianhu campus is located in downtown Xi'an with convenient transportation and complete living facilities. The Yanliang campus, adjacent to China's Aviation City, features large-scale aviation training bases and a runway, ideal for hands-on learning.

The two campuses cover 1,158 mu with over 460,000 square meters of buildings. The library holds 3 million volumes, and teaching equipment is valued at 270 million RMB. Campuses are green with sports facilities, student apartments, and dining halls.
