Xichang University is a full-time public university located in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is jointly built by the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Ministry of Education, and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission.
The university traces its roots back to the National Xikang Technical College founded in 1939, and was formed in 2003 through the merger of several institutions. In 2024, it was approved as a master's degree-granting institution.
