Henan University of Urban Construction

Henan University of Urban Construction (HNCJ) is located in Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. It is the only provincial undergraduate university in Henan that focuses on engineering with a distinctive feature in urban construction, and one of only two universities in China named after 'urban construction'.

Founded in 1983, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 2002 and approved as a master's degree granting unit in 2024. As a member of the 'Belt and Road' International Alliance of Architecture Universities, HNCJ actively promotes international exchanges and cooperation, partnering with universities from multiple countries and welcoming international students.

HNCJ's core strength lies in its unique 'urban construction' focus, with flagship programs in civil engineering, architecture, urban and rural planning, and water supply and drainage engineering, which enjoy high reputation in Henan and nationwide.

The university is a pilot institution for the Ministry of Education's Data China 'Hundred Schools Project' for industry-education integration, collaborating with leading companies to provide students with rich internship and employment opportunities.

The university comprises 19 colleges offering 55 undergraduate majors across engineering, management, science, humanities, law, and economics. It has 1,052 full-time teachers, over 40% of whom hold senior titles, and a growing number with doctoral degrees.

Teaching and research equipment is valued at 344 million yuan, and the university operates over 20 provincial key laboratories and engineering research centers. The curriculum emphasizes theory-practice integration, adopting the CDIO engineering education model to foster innovation and global perspectives.
