Hunan University of Science and Engineering

Located in Yongzhou, a historic city along the Xiao and Xiang rivers in Hunan Province, Hunan University of Science and Engineering (HUSE) is a full-time undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers programs across eight disciplines: science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, education, and arts, positioning itself as a comprehensive application-oriented university.

Tracing its roots to the 1941 founding of the Seventh Provincial Normal School of Hunan, it was renamed HUSE in 2004. The university emphasizes practical education and has been actively expanding international partnerships, creating a multicultural learning environment for overseas students.

HUSE is widely recognized as a 'banner of national teacher education reform,' boasting a strong legacy in teacher training. It is also among the first batch of universities selected for the Ministry of Education's 'New Engineering Research and Practice' project, leading in fields like artificial intelligence, big data, and intelligent manufacturing.

The university features four provincial-level applied characteristic disciplines and eight university-level ones, covering mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and computer science. HUSE comprises 14 teaching colleges offering 53 undergraduate programs, with a faculty of 1,253 staff, including a significant proportion of senior professors. The curriculum features a 'New Engineering' framework, emphasizing project-based learning and interdisciplinary approaches.

Research is supported by several provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, such as the Hunan Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. The university promotes internationalization through bilingual courses and student exchange programs with overseas partners.

The 1,080-mu campus is green and well-maintained, featuring modern teaching buildings, a library, labs, a gymnasium, and a student activity center. The library offers extensive collections and digital resources. Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and high-speed internet, ensuring comfortable living.

Multiple dining halls serve diverse cuisines. Sports facilities include a track field, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Located in Yongzhou city center, the campus is easily accessible, with convenient shopping and entertainment options nearby, allowing students to immerse themselves in local culture.
