Yuxi Normal University

Located in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, Yuxi Normal University enjoys a pleasant climate and convenient transportation, just 90 km from the provincial capital Kunming. As a provincial full-time comprehensive undergraduate institution, it is built on a solid base of teacher education and offers programs across ten disciplines: economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and arts.

It is recognized as a demonstration institution for applied undergraduate talent cultivation in Yunnan. The university traces its roots to the Yuxi Teacher Training Class founded in 1978, and was upgraded to a full university in 2000 through a merger.

Yuxi Normal University has a strong tradition in teacher education and serves as a key base for training basic education teachers in Yunnan. It offers 3 master's degree programs and 50 undergraduate majors (43 currently enrolling), covering a wide range of fields with a focus on applied disciplines.

The university is renowned for its practice-oriented teaching and industry-academia integration, with well-established internship partnerships with local schools and enterprises, leading to consistently high graduate employment rates.

The university comprises 18 teaching and research units, staffed by a well-qualified faculty, over 40% of whom hold senior academic titles, with many having overseas study or research experience. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, adopting an 'applied talent' training model with innovation and entrepreneurship courses and interdisciplinary electives.

Research is supported by several provincial key laboratories and humanities and social science bases, focusing on local economy, ecological conservation, and ethnic culture. In the past five years, the university has undertaken over a hundred national and provincial research projects.

The campus covers 1,014.45 mu (about 67.6 hectares) with high greenery coverage and a beautiful environment blending modern architecture with Yunnan ethnic style. Teaching facilities include smart classrooms, experimental training centers, and a gymnasium.
