Jiujiang University

Jiujiang University (JJU) is located in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, nestled at the foot of Mount Lu, along the Yangtze River and beside Poyang Lake, offering a unique natural and cultural environment. It is a full-time undergraduate institution jointly operated by the Jiangxi Provincial Government and Jiujiang Municipal Government.

In 2024, it was approved as a master's degree-granting institution, currently offering three professional master's programs: Biology and Medicine, Resources and Environment, and International Business. Its history traces back to 1901 when the Danforth Nurses' School was founded by the American Methodist Episcopal Church.

Jiujiang University excels in applied disciplines. Its flagship areas include Biology and Medicine, Resources and Environment, and International Business at the master's level, with strong undergraduate programs in clinical medicine, pharmacy, environmental engineering, and international economics and trade.

The university operates two tertiary-level A hospitals and one stomatological hospital, giving it a strong medical education reputation. In 2024, it ranked 461st in the Soft Science China University Rankings and was rated as a top-tier applied university in Jiangxi for three consecutive years.

JJU has 2,679 faculty and staff, including 1,872 full-time teachers, many with senior titles and industry experience. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, with industry-education cooperation and enterprise-based training bases.

The university hosts provincial-level research platforms such as the Jiangxi Cerebrovascular Regional Medical Center and several joint laboratories. Its two libraries cover 46,700 square meters, holding over 3.3 million print books, 1.88 million e-books, and 107 databases in Chinese and foreign languages.

The university has two campuses: Danfeng (main) and Ziwei, covering a total of about 3,669 mu (244 hectares). Danfeng Campus features modern buildings surrounded by greenery, while Ziwei Campus offers a tranquil environment with complete facilities.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access. Two libraries provide rich resources for study. Sports facilities include standard stadiums and gyms. The affiliated hospitals ensure health services.
