Hebei Minzu Normal University

Hebei Minzu Normal University (HMNU) is a full-time public undergraduate institution located in Chengde, Hebei Province. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it is jointly established by the Hebei Provincial Government and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission.

HMNU is selected for the Data China 'Hundred Schools Project' and the Sino-American Applied Technology Education 'Double Hundred Plan,' focusing on cultivating application-oriented talents with global perspectives. Tracing its roots to the Rehe Accelerated Law and Politics School founded in 1907, the university was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 2010.

As the only ethnic normal university in Hebei Province, HMNU boasts distinctive features in ethnic education, earning a strong reputation for training teachers and applied talents for ethnic regions. It is selected for the Data China 'Hundred Schools Project,' giving it an edge in data science and big data technology through industry partnerships.

As a member of the Sino-American Applied Technology Education 'Double Hundred Plan,' the university leads in application-oriented talent cultivation, emphasizing industry-education integration and innovation. HMNU offers 43 undergraduate programs across disciplines including literature, science, engineering, education, and arts, with ethnic studies, education, tourism management, and music as flagship majors, some ranking top in Hebei.

HMNU comprises 17 teaching units with 710 full-time faculty, over 40% holding senior titles and over 80% with master's or doctoral degrees, many with overseas study experience. The university promotes curriculum innovation through small-class teaching and blended learning models, enhancing students' practical skills and critical thinking.

It operates provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, off-campus practice bases, smart classrooms, and virtual simulation labs. In research, HMNU hosts provincial platforms such as the Hebei Ethnic Education Research Base and the Hebei Cultural Tourism Big Data Technology Innovation Center, achieving notable results in ethnic education, cultural tourism, big data applications, and intangible cultural heritage preservation, undertaking numerous national and provincial projects.

The campus covers 693,800 sqm with beautiful landscaping, blending ethnic architectural styles with modern design, creating a harmonious multicultural atmosphere. Facilities include smart classrooms, multimedia labs, an innovation center, and an ethnic art exhibition hall.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, private bathrooms, and high-speed internet. Multiple canteens offer diverse cuisines including halal options, catering to different ethnic dietary needs.
