Suzhou University

Located in Suzhou City, Anhui Province, Suzhou University is a provincial public university established by the Anhui Provincial Government. Its predecessor was the Northern Anhui Su County Normal School founded in 1949, upgraded to a four-year undergraduate institution in 2004, and granted master's degree authorization in 2024, marking a significant milestone.

The university focuses on application-oriented talent cultivation and is a national implementation institution for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for College Students, as well as one of the first demonstration application-oriented undergraduate universities in Anhui.

Suzhou University excels in application-oriented education and industry service. It boasts one national first-class undergraduate program, one national characteristic specialty, and one national comprehensive reform pilot program, with strengths in new energy, biomedicine, materials, and chemical engineering.

In 2024, it was recognized as one of Anhui's first application-featured cultivation universities and a scientific research innovation institution for the new energy vehicle industry, adding three master's degree authorization points in resources and environment, biology and medicine, and materials and chemical engineering.

The university comprises 15 schools offering 52 undergraduate majors across engineering, science, management, literature, arts, and other fields. It has a strong faculty of 1,289 staff, including 404 with senior titles, 392 with doctoral degrees, and 56 master's supervisors.

The faculty includes 25 Anhui teaching masters and 29 teaching teams. Teaching and research equipment is valued at over 270 million yuan, with a library holding 1.537 million print books and 1.174 million e-books. The university emphasizes practical teaching and innovation, establishing multiple provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and school-enterprise cooperation bases, providing students with ample research training and internship opportunities.

Suzhou University has two campuses: Education Park and Bianhe Road, covering 1,146 mu (about 76 hectares) with nearly 600,000 square meters of building space. The campuses feature beautiful green landscapes, modern teaching buildings, laboratories, a library, and sports facilities.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and hot water, and canteens offer diverse dining options. The library provides extensive collections and convenient e-resources. On-campus entrepreneurship incubation bases and cultural activity centers create a comfortable and convenient living and learning environment.
