Jiaying University

Jiaying University is situated in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, a national historical and cultural city known as the center of Hakka culture. As a public full-time undergraduate university under the Guangdong Provincial Government, it is authorized to confer master's degrees and is part of the Guangdong Pilot Zone for National Teacher Education Innovation and the 'Revitalization Plan for Universities in Eastern, Western, and Northern Guangdong'.

Its origins date back to 1913 with the founding of Meixian County Women's Normal School, giving it a strong tradition in teacher education. The university enrolls students from 23 provinces, with over 28,000 full-time undergraduates and 6,000 continuing education students.

Jiaying University's strengths lie in its normal school heritage and multi-disciplinary development. It has 7 provincial-level key disciplines covering 11 fields including literature, science, engineering, law, and medicine, and offers master's degrees in education, agriculture, and sports.

As a member of the Guangdong Pilot Zone for National Teacher Education Innovation, it excels in teacher training programs, while agriculture and sports are also distinctive. The university hosts a Guangdong Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, enhancing its research capabilities.

Jiaying University comprises 21 schools and 63 undergraduate programs, with a robust academic and research profile. It employs 1,911 faculty and staff, including 1,500 full-time teachers, many holding doctoral or master's degrees.

The university has 453 million yuan worth of teaching equipment and a library with 2.73 million paper books. Research platforms include the Guangdong Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base and other provincial-level facilities.

Jiaying University has five campuses: Jiangbei, Jiangnan, Chengjiang, Huangtang, and Fengshun, covering over 1,800 mu (about 120 hectares) with a building area of 830,000 square meters. The campuses blend Hakka traditional architecture with modern design, featuring high greenery coverage and complete facilities.
