Bengbu University

Bengbu University is a regular undergraduate institution located in Bengbu City, Anhui Province, China. It focuses on engineering while coordinating the development of science, management, literature, education, and arts.

Its higher education programs began in 1978, and in 2007, it was officially established through the merger of Bengbu Education College, Bengbu Junior College, and Bengbu Staff University. The campus covers 1,128 mu (about 75 hectares) with a building area of 370,000 square meters, hosting around 17,000 full-time students.

Bengbu University is known for its strong engineering programs, particularly in Food Science and Engineering, Mechanical Design and Automation, and Electronic Information Engineering. The Food Science program has a long history dating back to 1984.

The university is a provincial-level project unit for master's degree cultivation and has passed both the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation (2014) and audit evaluation (2019), demonstrating its teaching quality.

The university comprises 14 colleges and departments offering 56 undergraduate programs across engineering, science, management, literature, education, and arts. It has 951 faculty members, with about 40% holding senior academic titles.

Teaching and research equipment is valued at 171 million yuan, supporting hands-on learning. The library holds over 1.44 million print books and 975,000 e-books. The curriculum balances theory and practice, employing case studies and project-based learning.

The campus covers 75 hectares with 370,000 square meters of buildings, featuring high greenery coverage and a pleasant environment. Facilities include modern classrooms, labs, a library, a gymnasium, student dormitories, and canteens.

Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access. Sports fields and leisure areas enrich student life. Bengbu is a historic city with a moderate cost of living and convenient transportation, making it a comfortable place for international students to study and live.
