Guangxi Vocational Normal University

Guangxi Vocational Normal University (GVNU) is a public full-time undergraduate institution located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Directly under the People's Government of Guangxi, it is the only vocational normal university in the region.

Its origins date back to the Guangxi Provincial Administrative Cadre Training Class founded in May 1951, and after several transformations, it was officially upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution by the Ministry of Education in June 2019.

GVNU's core strengths lie in its unique vocational normal positioning and new engineering focus. It has been selected for the Ministry of Education's 'New Engineering' Research and Practice Project, making it a leader in vocational teacher education in Guangxi.

Flagship programs include Building Engineering Technology, Engineering Cost, and Road and Bridge Engineering Technology. The university boasts three Guangxi Higher Education Characteristic Specialty and Curriculum Integration Projects, two autonomous region-level virtual teaching and research pilot centers, and four autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate courses.

The university boasts a high-quality faculty, with 464 full-time teachers and 190 part-time instructors, including two national education evaluation experts, two autonomous region supervisors, two national teaching masters, two provincial teaching masters, and three provincial outstanding teachers.

GVNU houses one Guangxi University Key Laboratory, two autonomous region-level experimental teaching centers, two Guangxi higher education high-level innovation teams, and over 100 on- and off-campus internship and training bases, including a New Engineering Collaborative Education Center.

GVNU has two campuses—Luowen and Xiangsihu—both featuring pleasant environments and modern facilities. The total campus area is 379,200 square meters, with teaching and research equipment assets worth 145 million yuan. The library holds 1.44 million print books, 362,700 e-journals, and 10.14 million dissertations, providing ample learning resources.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and hot water, and the cafeterias offer diverse dining options. The campuses are green and eco-friendly, earning the title of Guangxi Green School in 2022. Sports facilities include track fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts, supporting students' physical activities.
