Guilin University of Aerospace Technology

Located in the historic and scenic city of Guilin, a world-famous tourist destination, Guilin University of Aerospace Technology (GUAT) is a public applied university focusing on engineering, with coordinated development in science, management, literature, and arts.

It is the only university in Guangxi that offers aerospace-related undergraduate programs, operating under a central-local co-construction model with local management. Founded in 1979 and originally affiliated with China's aerospace industry, GUAT was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 2012.

GUAT's greatest strength lies in its aerospace and engineering disciplines, being the only university in Guangxi systematically training aerospace undergraduates. It boasts national characteristic specialty programs, the Ministry of Education's first batch of New Engineering Research and Practice Projects, and Guangxi first-class discipline construction status.

As a council member of the Chinese Society of Astronautics, a member of the National Alliance of Applied Technology Universities and the CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, GUAT enjoys strong industry reputation in spacecraft design, aircraft manufacturing, electronics, and mechanical engineering.

GUAT comprises 15 teaching units offering 39 undergraduate programs across engineering, science, management, literature, and arts. The faculty includes 954 full-time teachers, many with senior titles and doctoral degrees, as well as practical experience in the aerospace industry.

The university has 276 million yuan worth of teaching and research equipment, and operates several provincial-level key laboratories and engineering research centers, such as the Guangxi Key Laboratory of Aerospace Intelligent Equipment.

Set amidst Guilin's iconic karst mountains and rivers, the campus is known as a 'garden campus' with lush greenery and beautiful scenery. Modern facilities include well-equipped teaching buildings, laboratories, a library, sports complex, and standard athletic fields.

Student dormitories are air-conditioned with hot water and internet access, ensuring comfortable living. The cafeteria offers diverse cuisines to suit various tastes. The entire campus has wireless internet coverage, supporting smart learning.
