Hebei University of Environmental Engineering

Hebei University of Environmental Engineering is situated in the beautiful coastal city of Qinhuangdao, China. It is one of the earliest institutions in China to offer environmental education, jointly established by the Hebei Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

The university is also among the first pilot universities of the Sino-US Applied Technology Education 'Double Hundred Plan'. Its history dates back to 1981 when it was founded as Qinhuangdao Environmental Management Cadre School, and it was transformed into an application-oriented undergraduate institution in 2016.

The core strength of Hebei University of Environmental Engineering lies in its deep heritage and industry influence in the environmental field. As one of China's earliest environmental education institutions, it enjoys a strong reputation in programs such as Environmental Planning and Management, Environmental Assessment and Consulting (Environmental Supervision), and Safety, Health and Environment.

These programs are closely aligned with national environmental protection strategies, emphasizing both theory and practice. Graduates are widely employed in government environmental agencies, research institutes, and enterprises.

The university comprises 11 teaching units offering 26 bachelor's degree programs in environmental engineering, environmental science, art design, law, and more. The faculty is strong, with 6 provincial-level excellent teaching teams and over 200 senior-title teachers, many of whom have been recognized as provincial teaching masters or outstanding educators.

The curriculum emphasizes practical training, with well-equipped on-campus laboratories and off-campus internship bases. The total value of teaching and research equipment exceeds 97 million yuan, and the library holds over 900,000 paper books along with rich electronic resources.

The campus covers 725 mu (about 48 hectares) with a planned building area of 215,000 square meters, of which 168,000 square meters are already in use. The campus is well-vegetated and pleasant, featuring modern teaching buildings, laboratories, a library, and sports facilities.

The library offers a quiet study environment with extensive collections. Student dormitories are comfortable, equipped with air conditioning and internet access. The dining halls provide a variety of meals to suit different dietary needs.
