Overview
Heihe University is located in Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province, directly across the Amur River from Blagoveshchensk, Russia. This unique border location makes it a hub for Sino-Russian educational cooperation. Founded in 1958 and upgraded to a full-time undergraduate institution in 2004, the university is approved by the Ministry of Education as a pilot zone for Sino-Russian joint talent cultivation and one of the first units for the 'Sino-Russian Joint Undergraduate Training Program.' It also hosts a national model school for language standardization, a Sino-Russian student exchange base, the only pre-departure training base for studying in Russia, and a Russian language middle school.
With around 13,000 full-time students and 800 faculty, the university offers 43 undergraduate programs across nine disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, liberal arts, law, and arts. Its strong international atmosphere is fostered through partnerships with multiple Russian universities, joint programs, and frequent academic exchanges.
