Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy

Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy (HUAH) is a provincial public full-time undergraduate university located in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province. It was formed in 2013 through the merger of the former Zhengzhou Animal Husbandry Engineering College (founded in 1957) and the former Henan Business College (founded in 1960).

The university has a strong tradition in animal husbandry, veterinary science, food science, and business management, while actively expanding into smart agriculture and big data. As the chair unit of the Henan Grass and Livestock Industry Technology Innovation Alliance and the Henan Smart Animal Husbandry Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, HUAH plays a key role in regional agricultural development.

HUAH's flagship programs include Animal Medicine, Animal Science, Food Science and Engineering, and Business Administration (with a commercial focus). Its animal husbandry and veterinary majors are highly regarded in Henan and across China.

As a standing council member of the National Animal Husbandry Science and Technology Innovation Alliance and a vice-chair of the Henan Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Society, the university holds strong industry influence in grass-livestock and smart animal husbandry.

HUAH comprises 21 secondary teaching units offering 53 undergraduate programs across agriculture, engineering, management, economics, arts, and sciences. The faculty includes 1,874 staff, with a high proportion of senior professors and a distinctive 'dual-qualification' teaching team.

The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, with multiple provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and virtual simulation platforms. Research is centered on the Grass-Livestock Industry Technology Innovation Alliance and the Smart Animal Husbandry Alliance, along with provincial-level platforms like the Henan Animal Disease Prevention and Control Engineering Research Center.

HUAH's three campuses offer distinct environments: Longzihu Campus is located in the Zhengdong New District university town with modern facilities; Yingcai Campus is near commercial centers for convenience; Beilin Campus features extensive agriculture and forestry practice bases.

The total building area is nearly 1 million square meters, with green spaces and spacious learning areas. The library is well-stocked with 24-hour study zones. Sports facilities, dining halls, and dormitories (with air conditioning and hot water) are well-maintained.
