Honghe University

Honghe University (HU) is a full-time public undergraduate institution located in Mengzi City, the capital of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southeastern Yunnan Province, China, near the border with Vietnam.

Administered by the Yunnan Provincial Government under a province-prefecture co-management system, HU is one of the first pilot universities for comprehensive transformation in Yunnan and a project university for the national '13th Five-Year Plan' applied undergraduate industry-education integration development.

Honghe University is renowned for its applied talent cultivation and strong industry-education integration. As a national project university for applied undergraduate industry-education integration, it pioneered the comprehensive transformation pilot among similar institutions in Yunnan, closely aligning with local industries.

Its flagship programs span education, engineering, economics, management, and arts, offering 46 undergraduate majors and 3 professional master's degree categories, including 4 provincial-level first-level discipline master's points and 7 professional master's points under construction.

Honghe University boasts a highly qualified faculty of 903 staff, many with overseas study or visiting experience. It comprises 14 secondary colleges covering disciplines such as humanities, sciences, engineering, education, economics, management, and arts.

The curriculum integrates theory with practice, featuring industry-education collaboration and school-enterprise cooperation, with multiple provincial-level quality courses and bilingual programs. Research is supported by provincial key laboratories and engineering research centers, with teaching and research equipment valued at 155 million yuan.
