Jingchu University of Technology

Jingchu University of Technology (JCUT) is a provincial full-time public university located at No. 33 Xiangshan Avenue, Jingmen City, Hubei Province. Approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2007, it was formed through the merger of Jingmen Vocational and Technical College and Shayang Normal College, inheriting over 30 years of higher education history.

As one of the first pilot schools for the transformation and development of local undergraduate colleges in Hubei and a leading university of the 'Hubei 2011 Plan', JCUT emphasizes applied education and industry-academia integration.

JCUT focuses on applied talent cultivation, with distinctive strengths in engineering, management, medicine, and education. It comprises 16 teaching colleges offering 46 undergraduate programs. Medical programs benefit from two affiliated hospitals and two teaching hospitals, providing rich clinical practice; teacher education inherits the century-old legacy of Shayang Normal, well-regarded in Hubei's basic education sector; engineering programs are closely tied to local industries, with internship bases in partner companies, leading to consistently high graduate employment rates.

As a pioneer in transformation and development, JCUT excels in industry-academia integration and innovation education, winning multiple provincial teaching awards. Although not internationally ranked, it enjoys a solid reputation among similar provincial universities for teaching quality and social recognition, especially among local students and employers.

JCUT boasts a highly qualified faculty of over 1,000 full-time teachers, with more than 40% holding senior academic titles, many of whom have overseas study or research experience. The university's teaching and research equipment is valued at 199 million yuan, and the library holds 1.43 million paper books, supporting robust academic activities.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, with extensive lab, training, and internship courses, as well as project-based learning modules developed with enterprises. In research, as a leading university of the 'Hubei 2011 Plan', JCUT operates several provincial collaborative innovation centers and key laboratories focusing on new materials, intelligent manufacturing, and biomedicine.

The campus spans over 2400 mu (160 hectares), featuring lush greenery and modern facilities including teaching buildings, a library, laboratories, and sports venues. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access; canteens serve diverse Chinese cuisine with halal options.

On-campus amenities include banks, supermarkets, and a clinic, ensuring convenient daily life. The university also has a student activity center and an entrepreneurship incubation base.
