Sichuan University of Arts and Science

Sichuan University of Arts and Science (SCUAS) is located in Dazhou, a city in eastern Sichuan Province. It is a pilot university for comprehensive transformation and development in Sichuan and a candidate for master's degree authorization.

Its history dates back to the Longshan Academy in the late Qing Dynasty, with higher education starting in 1976 and bachelor's degree programs approved in 2006. The university has two campuses, Lianhu and Nanba, covering about 87.6 hectares with a building area of 425,700 square meters.

SCUAS has a strong tradition in teacher education while developing a balanced portfolio of disciplines including literature, science, engineering, management, and arts. It is selected into the Gongga Plan for Sichuan's 'Double First-Class' construction, with distinctive strengths in teacher training, intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and cultural creativity.

The university boasts several provincial-level first-class undergraduate programs and featured specialties. It emphasizes industry-education integration, partnering with local enterprises for internships and training. Graduate employment rates remain high.

The university has about 1,100 full-time faculty members, over 40% with senior titles and more than 85% holding master's or doctoral degrees. Teaching and research equipment is valued at nearly 200 million yuan. The library holds over 1.58 million print books and 1.378 million e-books.

SCUAS implements the Excellent Teacher Education Training Plan, strengthening practical teaching with provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and virtual simulation centers. Research platforms include key provincial laboratories and humanities research bases.

The main Lianhu campus blends modern architecture with natural scenery, featuring green spaces and a lake. The historic Nanba campus offers cultural depth. Both campuses are equipped with modern classrooms, libraries, gyms, student dormitories, and canteens.

Dormitories provide air conditioning, hot water, and internet. On-campus services include banks, supermarkets, and clinics. Sports facilities include a standard track field, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Dazhou has convenient transportation with high-speed rail and an airport connecting to major cities, and the cost of living is affordable.
