Tangshan University

Tangshan University (TSU) is a public full-time undergraduate institution located in Tangshan, Hebei Province, China. It focuses on engineering while offering coordinated programs in economics, management, humanities, law, and arts.

TSU is a provincial-level master's degree project construction unit and a member of the China Education Think Tank Alliance and the China University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance. The university traces its roots to Tangshan Industrial University founded in 1956, and was formed in 2002 through the merger of Southwest Jiaotong University Tangshan Branch, Tangshan Higher Technical College, and Tangshan Workers' University.

Tangshan University is particularly strong in engineering disciplines such as Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, and Computer Science. These programs are closely aligned with the industrial needs of Tangshan and the broader Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, resulting in consistently high graduate employment rates.

As a provincial-level master's degree project construction unit, TSU offers joint master's programs with other universities, providing pathways for advanced study. As a member of the China University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance, the university has established several provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and innovation bases, encouraging students to participate in competitions and startups.

TSU comprises 18 teaching units offering 55 undergraduate programs and 2 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. Over 40% of faculty hold senior professional titles, and more than 90% have master's or doctoral degrees.

The university emphasizes practical teaching, with provincial key laboratories, engineering research centers, and numerous off-campus internship bases established with local enterprises. The curriculum integrates theory and practice, incorporating project-based learning and corporate mentorship in some programs.

Tangshan University's three campuses offer distinct environments: the main Daxue Xidao campus features modern teaching buildings, a library, and laboratory centers; Huayan North Road campus is quiet with well-equipped living facilities; Longze Road campus enjoys convenient transportation.

The campuses are green and include standard sports fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access. Canteens provide diverse meal options. The library holds extensive collections and electronic resources.
