Xinyang Agriculture and Forestry University

Xinyang Agriculture and Forestry University (XYAFU) is located at No. 1 Beihuan Road, Pingqiao District, Xinyang City, Henan Province. Xinyang, a historic and cultural city, sits on the geographical boundary between northern and southern China, offering a mild climate and rich ecological resources that serve as a natural laboratory for agricultural studies.

As a public full-time undergraduate institution, XYAFU traces its roots to the Runing Prefecture Secondary Industrial School founded in 1910 and was upgraded to a university in 2013. It is one of the first national demonstration bases for cultivating new-type professional farmers and a member of the National Aviation Plant Protection Science and Technology Innovation Alliance.

XYAFU's core strength lies in the deep integration of agriculture, forestry, and aviation plant protection. As a member of the National Aviation Plant Protection Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, the university is a national leader in drone-based crop protection and smart agriculture.

It has won one second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award and multiple provincial awards. Flagship programs include Agronomy, Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, and Tea Science, with the latter benefiting from the local Xinyang Maojian tea industry.

Academically, XYAFU has 1,024 full-time teachers, including 375 with senior professional titles, 1,167 with master's or doctoral degrees, and 347 'dual-qualification' teachers combining academic and practical expertise. The university hosts 98 high-level talents such as national teaching masters and experts receiving special government allowances.

It has compiled 20 provincial-level textbooks. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, with students engaging in research from their first year. Research platforms include the National Aviation Plant Protection Science and Technology Innovation Alliance and provincial key laboratories, with equipment valued at 213 million yuan.

The campus covers over 1,800 mu (about 120 hectares) with 520,000 square meters of buildings, featuring high greenery coverage and a pleasant environment. The library holds over 2.96 million volumes, including 1.825 million paper books and 1.138 million e-books, with multiple study areas and seminar rooms.

Teaching and research equipment totals 213 million yuan, including advanced labs and greenhouses. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet. The canteens offer diverse food options, including halal choices.
