Yuncheng University

Yuncheng University (YCU) is located in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, in the Golden Triangle of the Yellow River region, rich in cultural heritage. It is a full-time public undergraduate university established by the Shanxi Provincial Government, focusing on application-oriented talent cultivation.

YCU is a key member of the Yellow River Basin University Alliance. The university traces its roots to 1978 as a teacher training class, upgraded to a university in 2002, and was approved as a master's degree-granting institution in 2024, marking a significant leap.

Yuncheng University is distinguished by its application-oriented undergraduate education, designated as one of the first batch of such universities in Shanxi in 2021. Its master's degree granting status in 2024 highlights its growing academic strength.

YCU offers 50 undergraduate programs across ten disciplines: economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and arts. Teacher education, engineering, and management programs are particularly influential regionally.

Yuncheng University has 21 teaching and research units covering sciences, engineering, humanities, management, and more. The curriculum emphasizes application-oriented learning with strong practical components, including partnerships with local enterprises for internships.

Research is supported by several provincial key laboratories and humanities bases, with faculty undertaking national and provincial projects. Among teachers, 89.54% hold master's degrees or above, and 27.30% have doctorates.

Yuncheng University operates three campuses: Fudan, Hedong, and Science & Innovation Park, covering 3,089 mu (206 hectares) with 610,200 square meters of buildings. The campuses are green and well-maintained, blending modern architecture with traditional elements.

Facilities include multimedia classrooms, laboratories, sports venues, and comfortable dormitories with air conditioning and hot water. Multiple dining halls serve diverse cuisines. The Science & Innovation Park provides an incubation hub for startups.
