Xinjiang Police College

Xinjiang Police College, located in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is a full-time public undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education and established by the regional government.

As the first public security undergraduate college in Northwest China, it serves as the Xinjiang Public Security Police Training Base and a Ministry of Public Security Police Combat Training Base. The college traces its roots to the Xinjiang Provincial People's Public Security School founded in 1950, and was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 2012.

Xinjiang Police College's core strength lies in its distinctive public security focus and leading industry position. As the only public security undergraduate institution in Northwest China, it has deep expertise in majors such as Public Security, Criminal Investigation, Public Order, and Forensic Science.

The Criminal Investigation program is recognized as a provincial-level first-class undergraduate program. The college is designated as a Ministry of Public Security Police Combat Training Base, equipped with advanced simulated policing scenarios and hands-on training facilities where students engage in realistic case simulations and tactical drills.

The college has 534 faculty members, including 266 full-time teachers, with over 40% holding senior professional titles and many possessing real-world policing experience. It offers 14 undergraduate and 5 associate degree programs spanning public security, law, engineering, and management.

The curriculum balances theory and practice, with modular courses in police skills, legal foundations, investigative techniques, and counter-terrorism tactics. Teaching and research platforms include a forensic science laboratory, a police psychology assessment center, and a moot court, with total teaching equipment valued at 56.29 million yuan.

The college has two campuses: Changsha Road in Xinshi District and Midong Campus, covering a total area of 2,409.41 mu (about 160.6 hectares). The campuses are clean and well-landscaped, with comprehensive teaching facilities.

The main campus features a standard track field, an indoor shooting range, a police skills training hall, student dormitories, and dining halls. Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access for convenient living.
